Guidelines RE: COVID-19 Pandemic

We pledge to keep you healthy and safe as you return to Care for your health care needs. As part of this, please find below the guidelines we are following to ensure your health and protection. Please note the responsibilities of our practitioners and staff, and importantly the responsibilities of yourself as you join us in the clinic.

1.    For patients and clients:

  • Pre-screening will be initially on the phone when making your appointment, and again when you arrive.
    • We will be confirming that you do not have any current symptoms, that you have not travelled internationally within the last 14 days, and that you have not had unprotected close contact with individuals who have a confirmed or presumptive diagnosis of COVID-19.
  • If you arrive early for your appointment, kindly wait outside or in your car.
    • Please confirm with the receptionist that you have arrived and which practitioner you are seeing.
    • Please use the hand sanitizer provided at the front desk, or proceed directly to the washroom and wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • The receptionist will direct you to the room your treatment will take place in.
  • We prefer that no one accompany you who is not having treatment. For parents with children, if no other arrangements can be made, they can accompany you; however, they must also sanitize or wash their hands thoroughly and stay with you in the room at all times.
  • Unfortunately, at this time, Care has closed the play area and there are no toys or books available for our beloved Care kids.
    • Please plan ahead and bring either books or toys with you for your children.
  • If you are directed to wait in the waiting room, the chairs are arranged with physical distance.
    • Please practice physical distancing with those you may come into contact with.
  • The appointment times are to accommodate the sanitization and cleaning procedures that are required.

2.    Payment Services:

  • For those of you paying by debit or credit card, if the transaction is under $100.00, you do not need to touch the machine with the card or your hands, you can simply let the card hover just over the machine.
    • If the tap does not work, you may insert your card.
  • We sanitize the debit machine after each patient.
  • While we discourage payment by cash at this time, we will receive it if necessary.
  • We prefer that receipts be emailed.
    • Please ensure we have your correct email address on file.

3.    For practitioners:

  • All practitioners will wear surgical masks throughout the entire treatment and while in the clinic.
  • Strict hand-washing techniques and sanitization will be fully enforced prior to and after all patients.
  • AHS recommended PPE donning and doffing procedures will be followed.

4.  For staff:

  • Care does not require staff to wear masks when they are sitting at the reception desk at a physical distance.
  • Care has installed a plexiglass shield at the front desk.
    • There is a space at the bottom to pass anything back and forth that is required, such as the debit/credit machine.
  • We are ensuring that all Care personnel also meet the pre-screening requirements.
  • If staff are walking around, they will maintain a physical distance of two metres and wear surgical masks.
